Friday night we took the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) Train down town to Union Square to see all the fun stores and mostly so the kids could ride the train. Beth had been talking about it for days, so I had to make sure she got her chance, and boy, did the kids love it! We ate dinner in the big Macy's store and then made our way through the rain back to our train and home again to get the kids to bed because we had big plan for Saturday!
Saturday morning we woke up and plans changed a little bit, Beth and Chelsie were both not feeling very well, for different reasons, but sick none the less. So my dad stayed home with the kids and Chelsie and Ryan, my mom, and I took the train down the the waterfront the see all that we could see! We walked about 4 or 5 miles we think. We walked from pier 1 to the end of the piers (49 I think). We saw a farmer's market, about a dozen street performers, lots of cool boats, lots of wonderful shops, and of course, lots and lots of wonderful food! Here are some of the highlights.
Sunday we went to Church and then sadly had to forego our plans for Golden Gate park and get in the car and head home. The weather forecast for our drive was not good, and we still had sickies. Beth was running a fever and Chelsie was still miserable, so we decided to get home as quickly as we could. James screamed for a good while in the afternoon because he wasn't used to being in the car that long when it wasn't night time, the weather was horrible in the middle of the night, but luckily not while we were in the Sierras, and Beth threw up in the car 3 hours from home, but we survived and made it home about 2:30 am Monday morning. It is now Friday morning and the kids have yet to be back in their car seats, no desire for some reason! Haha. So the trip was fun, obviously we had some bumps in the road, but what family vacation doesn't? I don't know what we would have done without my parents help, thanks again guys!
